Innovative moulders recognised by JSP at ARPRO® Adventure

Companies recognised for their achievement with ARPRO at European event

The first-ever ARPRO Awards were held recently as part of the ARPRO Adventure, a customer conference held by JSP in Switzerland. The ARPRO Adventure gathered together industry-sector leaders to discuss continued high performance and achievement.

“These awards are JSP’s way of recognising innovation and environmental benefit across multiple markets,” explains Paul Compton, JSP’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (Europe).

ARPRO is a lightweight and versatile material that helps to reduce weight, energy consumption and cost. Moulding Excellence is recognised as an important area for market growth and the award winner, Isobox has redefined material possibilities with ARPRO for Rowenta’s Shock Absorber vacuum cleaner. The ARPRO outer layer provides unrivalled impact protection and dramatically reduces weight (3.2kg compared to 8kg). Other nominees were SCA and Schlaadt Plastics.

In the category Technical Moulding, Taracell was awarded for developing the advanced surface techniques that enabled laminated ARPRO to be used to great effect in the TH!NK city. Others nominated were JCI and Moraplast.

For Environmental Performance, Isobox also received the award for its Rowenta Shock Absorber vacuum cleaner, with the outer structure enabling much reduced energy consumption. Katzbach was nominated for re-using the expended steam in the moulding process as a distributed heating source.

Georg Schloms of Schloms & Partner received the Career Achievement award for contribution to production efficiency and environmental evaluation. The other nominees were Franco Paglia of Iltar Italbox and Walter Feurer of Febra.

Speakers at the ARPRO Adventure included Sir Nick Scheele, former President and COO of the Ford Motor Company, Christian Kindl from BMW, Scott Garrett, Head of Marketing at Williams F1, Jonathon Powell of JD Power and Simon Aumônier of Environmental Resources Management.

JSP recently held an awards ceremony recognising ARPRO partners for Technical, Environmental, Moulding and Career achievement.
