ARPRO® Design Shines in Museum Spotlight

Make/Shift, the self-adjusting shelving system designed by Peter Marigold and made completely from ARPRO®, is currently on display in the London Design Museum. The modular storage system has been nominated for the Brit Insurance Design of the Year Award.

The comprehensive shortlist of 100 designs represents the best designs of the past 12 months, as selected by a team of internationally respected design experts including Nick Knight, Philipp Rode and Wayne Hemingway. Nominations span seven categories of design disciplines: Architecture, Graphics, Fashion, Product, Furniture, Interactive and Transport. Make/Shift is nominated for the Best in Furniture Award with 14 others from around the world.

The complete design collection is on show at the inaugural Brit Insurance Designs of the Year exhibition at the Design Museum from 13 February until 27 April 2008. Make/Shift finds itself in the company of work by design industry luminaries. Zaha Hadid, Hertzog de Meuron (Beijing Olympic Stadium, Co-op Himmel-Blau (BMW World), John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent, Ron Arad, the Nintendo wii, Philippe Starck and the FIAT 500 are just a few of the designers and products up for awards.

For more information on the design awards, go to the design museum website.

Offering the style and panache of contemporary furniture, Make/Shift is elegant in its simplicity. The unique interlocking wedge shapes secure themselves in place, adjusting to fit just about any space without bolts, screws or other fittings. Taking full advantage of ARPRO®’s functional properties, Make/Shift is robust and durable, yet lightweight and easily transported and assembled.

Make/Shift is the latest in a line of ARPRO® / Designer collaborations that include the futuristic Q-Couch by Frederik Van Heereveld and PLAY, an ingenious shelving system with endless configurational possibilities by Antoine Phelouzat.
