Properties

As a high performance engineering material, ARPRO provides a unique combination of material properties that benefit both manufacturer and end-user, including; strength at lightweight, resilience, thermal insulation, chemical resistance, acoustic insulation and recyclability.

ARPRO has a very high strength to weight ratio allowing it to be a load bearing structure, with little loss in form or shape. ARPRO also allows system mass reduction permitting savings in energy and fuel consumption.

Energy absorption

ARPRO is an excellent resilient, energy management material that withstands multiple impacts without damage and reforms to its original shape.

ARPRO maintains its properties over a wide range of temperatures and is isotropic so energy performance is independent of the direction of impact.

Lightweight

ARPRO allows system mass reduction, which permits savings in energy and fuel consumption.

Structural strength

ARPRO has a very high strength-to-weight ratio with load bearing structural support capability. ARPRO is capable of handling significant loads with little loss in form or shape.

For example 1m2 of ARPRO at 30g/l is able to sustain the pressure of 15t while keeping more than 75% of its initial thickness/shape.

Thermal insulation

ARPRO provides outstanding thermal insulation. It’s ready to keep you or your food hot or cold!

Chemically inert

Unaffected by exposure to oil, grease, petroleum and most chemicals. ARPRO does not support microbial growth and is biocompatible.

ARPRO is also approved for use with drinking water and available in many food approved grades.

Acoustic insulation

Due to its multiple design possibilities, ARPRO can dampen, absorb or block sound.

ARPRO Porous can do this over a 400 to 10,000Hz frequency range.

Recyclable and low environmental impact

ARPRO is 100% recyclable. Manufacturing ARPRO or moulding parts from it requires no hydrocarbon expansion agents, chlorofluorocarbon or other compounds that are recognised as damaging to the environment.

ARPRO is also available as a recycled grade which contains content from end of life parts. Find out more in The ARPRO Life Cycle Assessment.
